Over 100 people attended King’s College London to watch the screening of Orphan Mothers, a Brazilian short film about police brutality followed by a discussion with people who go through this issue every day.

  • Some of them were bilingual and did not use the equipment, so they just heard the floor.

  • The ones who spoke only Portuguese or English had earpieces and choose what language to hear

  • Everyone was allowed to speak in their language of choice and hear the live interpretation, which meant at Q&A people could ask and answer questions in their own language

  • Interpretation was provided from a quiet corner in the room, allowing the audience and speakers to be the centre of the event.
