Urgent Translations
Time is of the essence! I will work as hard as I can make sure your translation is available as quickly as possible and often it means your deadline will be met without any extra charge. Turnaround time can be as short as 24h (contingent on length and complexity). This can be especially important with documents served in court proceedings.
If you need your translation available right away, here’s a few tried-and-tested options:
-
If you’re in a rush and can not wait, I am available to sight translate your document(s). That means I can read content written in English aloud in Portuguese (or vice-versa) without a written translation of the content.
The practice is quite common with solicitors and barristers and usually means a hard copy of the content is ordered as an additional service after the conference.
This works extremely well with documents that need to be served immediately and/or discussed urgently with clients.
You may do so by booking an interpreting session.
-
Contingent on complexity and length, you may fast-track the translation of your document.
Urgency fees range from 20% to 50% of the cost depending on how soon you need your document andcurrent availability.
-
You may request that the certified version of the document be shared as a PDF file so it reaches you before the hard copy does.
-
Certified translations are normally sent free of charge via Second Class Royal Mail, but you may collect your document in person in Bermondsey or pay extra for speedy mail service.
-
Work is commenced upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of 50%. The other 50% are due upon completion of the work.
For Legal Aid solicitor firms, cost and invoicing meet Legal Aid rates and standards. In these cases, payment is done via bank transfer upon completion of the work or at the end of the month should there be multiple documents to be translated.
To get an accurate quote, you will need to send your document specifying the address it will be sent to and the deadline.
